“Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a lifesaving technique useful in many emergencies, including heart attack or near drowning, in which someone's breathing or heartbeat has stopped” (Excerpt From: Hilliard City Schools. “Unit 8: Health Care Services.” v1.0. iBooks.). CPR is a very useful thing to know how to do. It could be at anytime that anyone needs CPR and if nobody knows how to preform CPR than that persons life is at greater risk.

“CPR can keep oxygenated blood flowing to the brain and other vital organs until more definitive medical treatment can restore a normal heart rhythm” (Excerpt From: Hilliard City Schools. “Unit 8: Health Care Services.” v1.0. iBooks.). CPR is not the only thing the patient needs, as soon as someone starts CPR someone else needs to call for professional help. CPR is just to keep the persons blood flowing until more help comes.

“The American Heart Association uses the acronym of CAB — compressions, airway, breathing — to help people remember the order to perform the steps of CPR” (Excerpt From: Hilliard City Schools. “Unit 8: Health Care Services.” v1.0. iBooks.). Remembering CAB can help in the case of an emergency know what to do first. Most people panic in an emergency but if you remember CAB then you'll know what to do.

“Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is for people whose hearts or breathing has stopped and the Heimlich maneuver is for people who are choking” (Excerpt From: Hilliard City Schools. “Unit 8: Health Care Services.” v1.0. iBooks.). Knowing the difference between these two are very important it effects the way to help the person. Making sure you do the right service could help save someone's life. It is important to know what you are talking about to help someone's health like knowing how to handle wounds and common injuries like cuts.

My sister, friend and I all took a CPR class and got certified because we all love kids and volunteer with kids a lot and it made us feel better knowing we knew how to if there was ever an emergency and it made parents more comfortable leaving their kids with us. Each of us also babysit and being certified gives all of us confidence and whe being with the kids. The class was very long but it taught us what to do in case of all kinds of emergencies. It was hard to learn to do CPR but we practiced on dummy's until we were all comfortable incase we ever needed to do it for real. We also learned the about choking and how to help those people.
