The Belgian Mala was arrested and she was trying to find a hiding spot for her and her family. Mala was taken away and soon was put in a concentration camp and was deported to Auschwitz. She suffered at Auschwitz and was punished for not following orders or breaking rules.

Malka joined a resistance group called Hanoar Hatzioni which was a Jewish youth organization. This organization offered an alternative to very political groups or other groups being affected by religious matters which significantly helped support people who were apart of this group and generally influenced others to join. He put them in Auschwitz which stripped them of their rights and were forced to work with no breaks, little to no food or water, and punishments if they tried stopping.
