         <description><![CDATA[<div>Booker T Washington was born on April 5,1856 in Hale's Ford VA. He died on November 18,1915 in Tuskegee AL. He attended 2 colleges, Wayland Seminary (1878-1879) and Hampton University (1875). He was an american educator, author, orator and he was also a civil rights leader. Washington thought that black rights should be earned equality through education progress. He found that Tuskegee institute to give black educations and business skills. Booker believed that everybody should be equal whites and coloreds. Booker and WEB Du Bois were not big fans of each other they had a lot of conflicts with each other and had different beliefs. Du Bois criticized Washington for not demanding equality for African american, granted by the 14th amendment. They did not like each other because Washington did not criticize the white people enough. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Booker T. Washington acted as a black leader during the time of the Progressive Era. Booker T. Washington fought against racism hard because of his past. Being born a slave he knew the torment and heartache and the pain of what his people been through. He was a peaceful man but he was very dominant with what he wanted and what he believed in. Doing to his love for a change he managed to skill persuasion and by doing that he persuaded many people, including the president of the United States. Being an educational black man he was one of the most influential African American civil rights Leaders of his time. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>
