The "Age of Revolutions" refers to a period from the late 18th to the mid-19th centuries, roughly 1775-1848, characterized by significant revolutionary movements in Europe and the Americas. This era saw widespread societal, political, and economic transformations, including the French Revolution, the American Revolution, the Haitian Revolution, and other revolutionary movements.

The Age of Revolutions challenged traditional and colonial power structures, and was fueled by nationalism, anger among lower social classes, Enlightenment ideals, and anti-colonial, anti-slavery ideals.

Enlightenment ideals include an emphasis on individualism, and the individual rights of people.

The Age of Revolutions promoted independence, liberty, equality, and was representative of new human possibilities, via fighting systems of oppression and exploitation.
