Last year, I went to Brazil with my family. It was my first time visiting another country, so I was very excited. We traveled in July because it was summer vacation, and we stayed for one week.

When we arrived in Rio de Janeiro, I was surprised by how big the city was. The weather was warm and sunny, and there were beautiful palm trees everywhere. On the first day, we visited the famous Christ the Redeemer statue. It is so tall! We had to take a train up the mountain to see it. From the top, the view of the city was amazing. I took many pictures.

The next day, we went to Copacabana Beach. The sand was soft, and the water was blue. My brother and I played soccer with some local kids. They were very good at soccer! After that, we ate açaí bowls, a delicious frozen fruit dessert. I loved it so much that I ate it every day during the trip.

One funny thing happened when we went to a market. My mom wanted to buy a souvenir, but she didn’t speak Portuguese. She tried to explain what she wanted using her hands. The seller laughed and helped her find a beautiful bracelet. It was a bit embarrassing, but we all laughed about it later.

Before we left Brazil, we visited the Tijuca Forest. It is a rainforest near the city. We saw monkeys and colorful birds. I felt like I was in a movie!

My trip to Brazil was unforgettable. I learned a lot about the culture and tried new things. I hope I can visit again someday.

• Rome:

1. The pasta: Rome has excellent pasta, and it is the birthplace of Carbonara

2. Beautiful churches: St. Peter’s basilica, among other churches, is a great place to visit and appreciate the greatness of it.

3. Location: Rome connects to many other places to visit, such as beaches, Pompeii, etc.

4. Fashion: Rome has a lot of places to visit related to fashion, since Italy is where many brands started.

If you are in the center of the city, to get to Zona Franca you have to walk straight until you reach Magallanes street. There, you have to locate a bus stop there. Then, wait for a lane n°2 bus and you wait until it gets you there.
