In 2013, I planned my first trip to the USA and it was the first time that I left my country to explore new horizons. The idea was to visit many cities in the middle and east coast such us Chicago, Boston, New York and Washington DC. I did not have idea of what I could do in those cities, what places I could visit or the most important, where I could stay while I had my adventure. That is why I had to take my time to research throughout the internet some information of each city, the most important places to visit and I had to understand what the best way to have an incredible journey was. Making that research, I realized that the wish of knowing a new place in the world could be more fun and cheaper than in previous years, thanks to how easy it is to access to information, the possibility of having a cheaper flight, and above all the opportunity of obtaining a great experience like if you were another inhabitant of the area, just as if you had lived years in it, even when you only stay for a few days as a tourist. The concept of renting an apartment, to live like a local in a new area of the world is the most exciting experience that you could have if you ever want to know a new place in your next tourist trip.

For the humans, traveling to new areas, exploring and exchanging knowledge is a natural behavior in their DNA. According to history, the human was a nomad by instinct and from the beginning of the homo-sapiens in almost every moment, people have had an impulse to break their walls and limits. We are in the age when humans travel the most around the world that in another age, and the technology and possibilities in the transportations system such as airplanes, cruisers, buses, expeditions, exchanges an among others, bring them the access to move faster from and to any places in the world. For instance, one day one of my colleagues unexpectedly told me she had to go visit a client in New York, she was very afraid to go alone as Manhattan is a very crowded and busy part of New York. Therefore, she asked if I could join her as I had previous experience traveling around the area. Indeed, I am a traveler and with my expertise in Airbnb I did not hesitate to say yes and right away I looked to rent a room in the Manhattan area. When the day came and we arrived I had booked a room in Aribnb for us with an African American man, called Erik. My colleague enjoyed the stayed as Erik was very friendly and helpful, we learn that locals in Manhattan, tend to have many roommates, or guests and gather with their neighbors at night to talk and play music, moreover, they enjoy taking their guests to different spots that are not the common attractions, their apartments are small with a lot of concrete and bricks almost like lofts, but they have a more homey and curious style.  As Colombians, we also left part of our culture with our host, we share with them how beautiful our country is and since we are now friends through Airbnb they will have a place to stay if they ever decide to visit our homeland. 

Keep in mind that if you like to use this application for your next adventure, you need to look for the places you want to visit, this will allow you to find the best location in a central area close to the places you want to visit. Second, you need to have very clear the dates you want to stay, from the day and time of your arrival to the day of your departure. Moreover, look up and book your room with plenty of time, the earlier you book the more options you have and the best price options you get.
