Ms. Van Daan was kind of bouji with her fur coat and stuff. And Peter was a bit of a cool person but has a smart mouth.
In my opinion I don't think they compare to my expectations, well maybe the I can compare to the Franks because If I was in there place I would have tried my best to be happy even though I know there is all happening I would want my family happy and try to have as much time with everybody as I have. They are pretty much how I thought families were like then. They were not making a huge huge deal of whats happening but they are doing things to help survive. The wife had a fur coat, and many possessions that were not essential. The Van Daans seemed less hopeful, and a little bit stuck up. They didn't seem to understand what they were going through an how important it was.

(that goes the same for the Van Danns) I thought that they would be way more scared about them all going into hiding but they still played games, told jokes, and had fun!!!
