one thing i think me and everyone else is struggling with is who they want to be. Antonio doesn't know what he wants to be when he grows up and he struggles with that because his parents want hi to be this and that and he doesn't want to disappoint them but he doesn't know what he wants to be himself.Esperanza struggles with being her own person and how she wants to be viewed as both these books talk about their identity and thats something i relate to and im pretty sure a lot of other people feel the same way as i do.

a specific event from one of the stories that I can relate to is when Ultima was picking herbs with antonio and then after the ate prickly pears. when I was a kid I would help my uncles pick cactus leafs to dice and after we were done we had a nice dinner like the way Ultima and Antonio had a prickly pears after picking herbs

Antonio from Bless Me Ultima relates to a personal experience of mine which was when I was afraid and nervous as a kid in 1st grade to go into my school because I did not like being around a lot of people and I was shy and scared of everybody. It relates to my personal experience because Antonio was very afraid to go into class while he walked and when he was around a crowd of people, he was afraid to be there.

A specific event is from Bless me Ultima, when Antonio found out about the Golden Carp, his reaction was bewildered and confused. After this event, he questioned whether to believe in his beliefs and the stories he has been told. This is something I can related to, since I used to believe mostly everything, but after growing up and going through experiences, I now start to question my own beliefs I had as a young kid and still to these day.

I chose this because Antonio parents depend on his to do great things in life and accomplish them. I relate to that because my parents also want me to accomplish the things i want. I can relate to Antonio from Bless me, Ultima because throughout the story Antonio loses his innocence which he wanted to keep. He saw violence with the men stating that Ultima was a witch, and he saw a killing happen from faraway. This relates to me because as I grew up, I started knowing curse words, watching horror movies. and saw people smoking. As I grow up, I realize that I and everyone has lost their innocence.

I feel like I relate to events from bless me Ultima because Antonio feels like he's being relied on. Antonio's parents want Antonio to be what they want him to be but Antonio feels overwhelmed and not heard because they never asked him what he wants to be and he's the youngest and his other brothers didn't make there parents dream come true so he feels and they make him feel like he has too. Those are things I relate too.

I can relate to Antonio from Bless Me Ultima because he saw Lupito died and how he died and when I was like 11 I saw one of my family member die I saw everything.
