Flappers were the women of the 1920's who went against the stereotypes. They usually cut their hair short, smoked, drank and wore dresses that stopped above the knee, which at the time was very risky. They also wore skirts above the knee and heavy makeup. These women also started to do something called "casual dating" and they talked to and went out with multiple guys. Symbolized the new "liberated" women. The whole ordeal showed society that women now had more freedom and weren't afraid to show it off.
