It's almost as if people manifest as much personas as they can in each context they are put in. We humans have this brilliant capacity to adapt. Especially one class of humans (barely! ) called politicians. To be a politician means you have to get along with people and win them over and in order to do that you have to know how to talk carefully in the right manner. If You are facing 'the greatest crowd ever' in your inauguration as president of the US you have to scream and use exaggerated words. Also you are allowed to be overly optimistic and use inflated expressions. (that's another way of saying to Lie) Nevermind!
However, if one is in a live TV discussion, the politician will not get away with many of the things he/she does get away with in a monologue. Also, He Emphasizes more words and repeats them more often. He uses more hand gestures when he wants to make something sound like a big deal, either positive or negative. He talks slower and the intonation is more prominent toward the end of the word/sentence, to make a bigger impact on the hearer. (1) Declining: Brabble
According to Colling’s dictionary “Brabble” refers to arguing stubbornly about trifles; wrangle.
The use of the word Brabble started declining in the 1890s. The Oxford English dictionary states that Brabble is usually identified with Dutch brabbelen to confuse, stammer, jabber but they do not have the exact place the word originated from yet. The word Brabble is compared in the previous dictionary to Babble (to talk idly, irrationally, excessively, or foolishly; chatter or prattle) and brawl (a rough or noisy fight or quarrel).
It is not clear why this word took a downward trajectory, maybe because it is close to the word Brawl. Therefore, it gets confusing sometimes to differentiate between the two. Since their meanings are similar too, the only difference is one argues stubbornly while the other argues noisily. why bother and use them both when you can use brawl. Brawl Ngram shows that the word is still being used excessively. Brabble disappears and Brawl takes over.
I think the change in the usage has no external motivator, just one word replaced the other.
(2) Increasing: Story
When you heard the word story few years ago, it mainly meant the synonym of Tale. a narrative that describes a sequence of events, it could be true or false. However now it started to be used more than before. and it doesn't really mean what it meant before. Due to the technological development of social media. the concept of stories was created, which is a picture or video that lasts 24 hours that tells the story of your activity. 
(3) Fad: Corset
Corset represents a woman's tightly fitting undergarment extending from below the chest to the hips, worn to shape the figure.The word corset came into use in the English language in 1828. The word was in French magazine to differentiate the lighter corset from the heavier stays of the period. The word corset is a diminutive originating from the French word “corps” that refers to the body. In 1910, fashion began promoting from a straight figure and by 1920 the natural figure started to make a comeback, and corsets became less popular. In other words, the word corset was not as popular as it was in 1915.According to the gram “Corset” word use reached its prominent peak in 1915, then started declining very fast. Both the excessive use and the abonnement of the word and was related to fashion. This word Corset has a single prominent peak in 1915.
