This document is the testimony of Benjamin Franklin before a committee of the House of Commons in London. Franklin is a colonial agent and if fighting the committee to repeal the stamp act with the justification that the colonies are already paying a great amount of taxes. This shows how 1763 was a turning point because the colonies were starting to take a stand to Britain and start fighting for what they believed in.

One piece of evidence that shows why 1763 was a turning point is:
"Q: What used to be the pride of the Americans?
A: To indulge in the fashions and manufactures of Great Britain
Q: What is now their pride?
A: To wear their old clothes over again, till they can make new ones."
This shows how they used to agree with Britain and their laws, but they are being pushed too far and wish for independence.

Another piece of evidence is:
"Q: What will be the opinion of the Americans on those resolutions?
A: They will think them unconstitutional and unjust."
