Congratulations for your achievement! For sure, you deserve it. You did an extra ordinary leadership for OAC. My Family stayed at Vancouver for one whole year and the OAC had been very helpful because we found a sense of family while we were away from home in Prince George. My daughter is done with her chemo now and she is feeling alright. I remember one day that after service, the elders of the church prayed for my family. One of the members (seat mate that day) gave a gift the next Sabbath when I came by myself. More supports came: gifts, moral/emotional/spiritual and Sister Tezz Ozare is one of them. If given another chance my family would for sure visit again OAC. Can't express more how blessed we were during our stay at Children's Hospital and RMH.

Pastor Rhoda, there are certain times in life when there just aren’t words available to express what is in the heart. This is one of those times. I am so glad to have a small part of Rhoda’s journey into professional pastoral ministry. She’s been ministering for years, but to see her take the leap, and leave her other career was a beautiful sight. When she served as a lay leader, and then as our head elder, it was apparent to me and to so many others that her calling could not be denied.

Thank you OAC for fostering that and giving her the space to grow and figure things out. And thank you Rhoda K-m for stepping in when the two other pastors departed so abruptly. You were left holding a bunch of crumpled pieces and slowly nursed the congregation back to health.

Today is a high day for you to be finally recognized for what you’ve been doing already. It reminds me of David, was had been anointed as the king, but he waited his turn while Saul took his reign. Finally, when it was David’s turn it’s a bittersweet moment (2 Samuel 5) because the tribes of Israel finally realized that David was already doing the work of the king. Finally the conference and the church have seen this!

So remember this, pastor. Today is a high day and it should be celebrated. But tomorrow is coming. Those people who are lifting you up with great praise today will be in dire need of a pastor. Remember these words of Jahaziel,

“He said, “Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
