A week before he went missing, he decided to go on a week long vacation with his friends to the city of Varna, Bulgaria to stay at the Viva Club Hotel on the Golden Sands Seaside resort. Everything was going just fine, but it was only during the last days of his vacation were things started to become strange.

a few days before the end of their trip, Lars had apparently gotten into a dispute with another group of German tourists over football. His friends wouldn't see him that night, and he would apparently end up with a ruptured eardrum and a possible concussion.

It was only until the next day that his friends would learn about his injuries, he was prescribed an antibiotic by a doctor and was informed that he couldn't travel with his friends on the day they were supposed to leave, because of his injuries. So he decided to book a hotel and told his friends to go on without him.

But during his stay at the hotel he became paranoid and made a panicked phone call to his mother telling her that, he was being followed by men who were trying to kill him. The CCTV in the hotel caught Lars acting erratically and anxiously as he walked through the corridors.

The next morning he would arrive at the airport terminal and everything was going just fine, until he had to be checked by the airport doctor to see if he was clear to fly. The doctor noticed that despite being clear to fly, Lars was still incredibly anxious and untrusting of the meds prescribed by the doctor. Lars would then cry out and say "I don't want to die here. I have to get out of here." This would be the last words reportedly heard from him.

And out of nowhere he dropped his luggage and ran out of the airport and in a mad dash ran across the street jumped over the fence and was never seen again. This CCTV footage is the last reported sighting, of Lars Mittank. As of 2025, there has been no news about his whereabouts or whether or not he is still alive.
