To work the topography of Catalonia and Spain, we built a Trivial with our students. In groups, we distributed rivers, mountains and coast of the different zones and they created their questions. With the whole class group we designed the board that we then printed and, to finish the project, we played our Trivial.

I’ve found very interesting this section about maker movement, maker space, Tinkering Studio and Tinkering Europe. I’ve found as well interesting the Californian school’s video where I ‘ve seen how children can work in a maker space, by supposing something to solve a problem, by creating something that can solve a problem, or just by creating something they like. It was wonderful when they said: - I suppose...Yes, I’m very fond of project -based learning. I use this approach over all in English and Music. In English when we do CLIL activities and we have to do, fir example, a presentation of something we studied. In Music, when we have to organize the end schoolyear concert. But, for what concerns to find in our school a real maker space, or the materials we need to design and project something, it’s always so difficult... In our Italian schools we often miss spaces for labs and materials...but we have the hope to become better organized. Unfortunately, up until now I haven’t yet made projects that I could share in this space.

In my class I did a project about regionality and saisonal products. The children (after having analysed different key words like "agriculture, monoculture, ...") choose one topic. There were different groups, one group f.example interviewed 2 farmers about their work, another group build up the "Farmhouse in the year 2222" and another group build the house of a farmer in Luxembourg in 2019. It was really interesting, they could chose their topic and could use different materials.

My students are staying in a dormitory and they haven't got a chance to go out tu buy materials but, they use some recyclable things as a language and game materials.(they use candy box to pick up vocabulary or they use roulade cartoons etc. Sometimes they use web 2.0 tools to create games.

I have been jumping from school to school and this has allowed me to work in some different realities with working with alternative and reclusive courses, as well as with younger children and on traditional courses. I have done a lot but I do not always record. Here an example: Momondo contest, about Tolerance. They had to figure out information about countries and their people and realize why we created labels for people. They won the first prize nationwide.

In the classroom I did an ecological project where students learned about spring and planted one flower: they care about it, water it and follow the growth and development of its planted plant. Each student painted his potter. One of the projects was when they had to invent a machine or object that they could use everyday. They have redesigned the everyday objects and have explained the function of the object after the completion of the project. They used recycled materials. First they explored the famous Croatian innovators and their subjects (description and purpose of innovation). Motivation of a cartoon film by Professor Baltazar which is an interesting and close figure for children, because he is a fun and imaginative inventor and has the solution to every problem.
The projects I work with my students are simple, but I think they are appropriate for their age (7 years).
I think I need to learn much more to give students creative solutions to problems, critical thinking. I'm glad to learn from the examples I've seen here.

I 'm lucky to have such active pupils. They are involved within erasmus projects such as "the greenhouse" in which They ve prepared a small area of the school yard to plant in it some native products and then They started to take çare of that small area in the hope of making it a very beautiful place...They are also engaged within another erasmus project about reading....they are going to write a short story and then send it to the project partners in order to make all of that a group of children stories in an illustrated book ...I do really enjoy working with my big girls and boys.....

One of our classroom's projects we've worked on was using recycling materials such as plastic bottles, covers, blastic bags, car wheels...to make pots and vases for flowers and other plants. We've put them in the school's garden. My students have planted beautiful flowers and They're taking good care of them. I'm very proud of my little artists and nature lovers.

We designed paper robots to cover the surface of a Micro:bit. Then we coded the Micro:bit to do robot like stuff (say something robotic/silly, tell the temperature etc.) The 25 LED screen & the robot template that we used were really effective and the children loved it. The tinkering as a terme is new for me but reading about it, I think I have done something like that with my students. We have drawn a map of France, only with the main cities on it, with the start and final point, we have added questions for almost every city considering it's culture. Students move through it by lancing a dice, a student who comes first to Paris wins. I will add a photo as well :-)

I made a project with my students to celebrate EU day.
We created a poster with photos of the countries they visited. I also used a game- like activity. The students presented the photo and the rest of the class had to guess the country. It was fun and entertaining.

The students did a huge number of activities , which helped them learn through project making. They tried to improve inventions or invent the new tools that can help them around the house and make their lives easier. Such as toothbrush with container and two handed washing machine. I want to mention that one of the interesting activities was creating the ninth planet and show the possible ways of solving the problems if they have one in their planet. During the activity the students interacted with one another and participated in decision making process. From my stand point these kinds of activities offer children countless opportunities to grow their problem - solving abilities and creativity.

I held many activities with my children. I did not record them but I took some photos. I encouraged them to use the magnifying glass ( to observe the leaves and their ribs and veins, but also the eggs laid by insect on the the leaves); they used modelling paste (they made Easter eggs and painted them by combining different pigments); they got familiar with different natural phenomena, such as how the rain starts or a river flowing into the sea using the means at their disposal.

Although I have done projects with my class, I have never heard of the maker movement. Introducing makerspaces into the class is something I am now eager to do. I struggle with allowing the children use digital resources as I am aware many students spend much of their time in front of screens at home. Lego we do, however is something we did use this year. the children planned and built their own lego design and were then able to programme it to move.

I am practicing active recycling with children (we use boxes, cardboard and paper, sometimes plastic bottles, glasses and caps), so they are directly creating their own games.

With my class and other kids from the after school, I’m practising creative recycling of some materials (paper/cardboard/boxes/hygienics rolls - plastic cups/plates/bottles ) to create some ‘new’ game.

for ex: THE DICE- we are creating a big cardboard dice with written task on every face of the dice (task like: sing a song/dance/clean the class-yard/give a hug/run around the yard/jump 6 time/imitate a frog/chicken…) every 2/3 weeks we make a new dice with new tasks. THE HAND MAZE - by creating this, anyone can demonstrate their own creativity. For this game we are reusing the fruit carton box, the hygienics roll, prices of cardboard, bottle caps and plastic cups. The carton box is the frame of the maze, in a random angle it’s drawn the start point/finish point; all the other listed material is used to crate the path and/or the obstacle for the ball. The purpose of the game is to get the ball from the starting point to the finish as quickly as possible.

We create with students they one storybooks (student choose a theme, write a simple text and make a drawings). Then we use those storybooks during classes. They enjoy in that because they can be creative and they can make a story about anything they want. We use a web application for that (https://eslikovnica.hr/), application is made for the purpose of Erasmus+ project. When children are motivated and feel they want to learn more about a subject they do projects that end with an exposition. After a brainstorming students research the themes they choose and afterward they develop a theoretical presentation and a model, a diorama or a construction.
Kids create toys reusing cardboards, plastic bottles…
We also made a session of light painting on school vacations. Nevertheless, I think I need to have more materials available so that may students can work with wires, light bulbs, batteries…

I have worked an Origami project with pupils. It is proven that origami improves fine motor skills, concentration and attention , understanding geometric concepts, improves spatial visualization… Children made different origami shapes in classes and workshops, they participated in The First Croatian Origami Congress, they learned about Japan and they planted ten trees of Japanese cherry in the scool yard.

I've done quite a few activities that included creating various objects using paper, cardboard and other materials that children can handle with ease. The most recent one among these was creating masks using cardboard and any other appropriate materials that students bring from home, and I am very pleased with how it turned out - not only with the end results, but even more with the process itself.

In order to waste the garbage we are feeding foods with students in order to make natural compost. In the end of the school year we will plant flowers and use the compost that we made together.

One of our projects was to design a school on Mars. Project members had to find information on the dangers people face on the Red Planet, and then suggest ways to survive on Mars. I will describe one project that seems to be very successful. One of our unit is about youth magazines and when we finish the unit, I bring some old magazines in my classroom and my students (in groups) have to make their own magazines by using photos and letters. What I sometimes do with my special needs students is that we make our own games. The last time we were creative, we made our own memory game. It was even better because it was adapted to the vocabulary that the students were expected to learn. Students had to first make a plan how to make it, what kind of materials they needed. While making the cards they were already learning the words and playing te game was easier because they knew some of the words....

In my school recently we have had the idea to make students create an object that represents a story they have written. After that there would be an exhibition for all the school.

As a CS teacher the majority of my students activities/ artifacts have to do with programming and steam, using robots, arduino and 3 printing. In international school exchanges I asked students to comment on the meetings using some recyclable materials, such as old papers and magazines, plastic bottles, cardboard boxes, tapes, coloured pencils and highlighters from which they were supposed to make collages or sculptures working in teams in set time.
During a Comenius project we decided to make dishes out of the food leftovers in order to reduce the food waste. Our group prepared an apple pie from old bread.

One of my projects was "Flying into space". Pupils studied planets. They watched videos, interactive cards, and made flying devices. Tested with compressed air and balloons. One year we had an extracurricular activity called “Hokus pokus”. Here is an example. We extract sections of DNA molecule nucleosides (phosphate group, deoxyribose and nitrogen base adenine, guanine, cytosine and thymine) from the paper. The resulting parts are plasticized, we match the puzzle and calculate the length of the molecule, the number of bends, the molar mass of the molecule, some nucleotides are fun and instructive.

In Science in year 3, we are doing a project about recycling. I thought that it colud be a good activity to use recycled materials and do something useful not only decorative. I have not heard about Tinkering, I'm interested and I'd like to try it out. In our school students participate in different projects. For example, just today we had a presentation of the different dances of our country. Pupils from the 1st to the 8th grade were dancing for one dance, and they showed it on the main square of our little town, and it was wonderful. When they finish primary school, students will learn to dance 8 different traditional dances.

Our stuidents love to protect the enviromment so we have a little garden at school and we compete which flower bed is more beautiful. Students use their creativity to re-create a forrest corner and they have a small bed with the rare and protected sppotted tulip.

A project for a language teacher can be asking students to make a video of their conversation with Spanish native speakers -since I teach Spanish. 1) I ask students to visit the cafeteria of a famous museum in town and ask questions about what called the most attention to a tourist (the interviewee), that could also be with other tourists that are friends of the main interviewee, and although my student will not understand all, my student has to record all. A minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes. My student will go home and transcribe what she/he is able to understand. Even if there are incomplete words, because only a vowel or a consonant were understood, that is good. 2) Go to class with the transcription and the video on the smart phone, or that had sent to my email address on the day of the interview. 3) In class we have groups of 4 members who will help each other to discover what was said. 4) I, the teacher, will be monitoring the whole class, going around the classroom. 5) Finally, they get their final version with my support and show the video and the transcripts to all the class -in printed paper to be distributed to each student. 6) All watch the video, they are also reading silently the transcript. 5) All students have to agree that all the transcript of each student is correct. If there are mistakes, all the class can help to decipher what is missing.

I still don't have my class to make these kind of projects which last longer period. My projects are usually associated with curriculum and lessons from program. Students from my current class gather old paper and recycle garbage in their own classroom trash cans. Someday, I would like to do projects in my classroom, such as planting flowers, painting classroom and cleaning school yard. These kind of projects are improving school environment and make students feel like they are at home.

Again, I believe eTwinning give us the opportunity to participate in these kind of projects and motivating even more our students, in our case, using English. We took part in a project about environment in which we share some seeds and we had to compare how they grew (if they did) considering the weather (sun, rain, temperature...) and share and compare the results with the other school. We had to measure the plants, take pictures, do charts... they loved it very much.

Apart from teaching EFL, I also teach Citizenship to one class every year. It's great because it allows my students and I to develop all sorts of mini-projects (we only have one 45' lesson per week). One of the projects we always try to develop is to do with recycling wine corks. Portugal is one of the main cork producers and cork is 100% recyclable. However, so many people either on't know about this or simply don't care. A few years ago, my class decided to make some very creative containers for the local primary schools (6 in total). They visited the schools, explained about the advantages of recycling cork and handed in the containers they'd made. At the same time, they also created a partnership with local restaurants and arranged to collect their corks periodically. I was very proud of that class and how active they proved to be! :)

I teach English so it is not easy to include tinkering but with generation I produced a class dictionary which involved a lot of different techniques. There were drawings and collages, some students copied and printed their work, the others used other approaches and in the end we got a dictionary of the most important words plus the most favourite words. It is a booklet that can be read and used in the class but it is also a small piece of art.

As part of an Erasmus+ project Legends of Capital Cities, our school was involved in a number of activities one of which was the creation of 3D picture books based on legends of the city of Zagreb. The students accomplished this goal through various subject areas. In History class, they researched legends, they wrote stories in Croatian class, they translated them in English class and in Art class they worked on the illustrations. The results were amazing. Along with the books, they also created games and quizzes and deepened their knowledge and skills in a number of areas while being fully engaged and having fun.

At our school we also have a school co-op group "UZ IZVOR" whose primary goal is to teach our students about entrepeneurship. Each year there is a new theme and we attend competitions. Last year our theme was games and the students were involved in the creation of many games which we demonstrated and later sold. Some games were donated to our extended school program.
The kids had a lot of fun creating and playing the games and many learned how to play traditional Croatian games of the past.

I am so sorry I cannot offer pictures or certain work based on the theory of tinkering studios or maker spaces. The only idea I realised was a so called "creative workshop" for kids. In our creative workshop we offer a certain amout of different materials and two tasks. The kids can use all materials and create their own "product". For example: The task is to create a greeting card: the kids get no set of introduction, they have to make their own choices, e.g. about the design, the person who gets it, what message they want to write, etc.. It is always amazing how creative they are.

I am lucky to work in a school in which STEM is very at the forefront of everything we do. We recently held a STEM fair which showcased to parents and teachers the work the children do using beeboots, sphero, quiver, bluebots, lego wedo and more. I can say that I didn't really try my hand at tinkering, but I started experimenting with something that I hope will take me in that direction.
To participate in an erasmus project "our school our playground" I presented some activities of my students.
My school is a comprehensive school, which, in Italy, means that it covers the age group from 3 to 13 years, divided into kindergarten, primary school and lower secondary school.
There is a lot of work on the continuity between the three school orders.
Together with my students in the first grade of secondary school, we thought of an activity to share with the fifth grade of primary school.
We have chosen science as a discipline and, as can be seen in the video, the secondary school children have created boxes with materials and cards inside.
The cards would guide fifth children to identify and build the model of an animal cell, with the materials in the box.
The experiment has succeeded well and I hope to consider it a first approach for a real future coding that allows us to build working objects.

In our language lessons, tinkering is not the first thing how to learn languages. But the different subjects can be put together: one of our classteachers let the pupils build a house with different rooms in a box, the pupils put in furniture, wall papers and other things and added a light bulb system with batteries. At the same time we studied rooms and furniture in our English lessons. But we could have brought it a bit further: the vocabulary could have been added into the boxes and the pupils could have had a presentation exercise in English about their houses.

We created a project on earthworms with students at the end of the 1st grade. After visiting an earthworm farm, the groups of pupils formed their own story of earthworms, their role in nature, cultivation of earthworms. Interesting, diverse projects were introduced to introduce parents and schoolmates. Pupils suggested studying spiders, ladybirds and frogs in the next school year. What kind of solution will they choose?
My pupils love the Experiment Day in the classroom. We had both experiments with water, ice and magnet. I let everyone choose to experiment and prepare and show it to classmates. Answering, Carrying, Supporting, and Suggesting for a Better Experiment - These skills in our class were discovered on Experiment Day!

My students organised a few jumble sales to raise money for air conditioning in the classroom. As they were 14 and 15 year-old students, they measured the classroom, calculated the cubic metres of to decide how powerful the air conditioning to buy. Then they phoned some companies to collect the information and to choose the best offer. Finally the air conditioning was bought and we are still using it.

My students organized a challenge cooking day in two classes:
the tasks were, watching videos in German language, translate the recipes, learning idiomatic expressions and verbs, bake a real SACHER TORTE and finally expose the whole project.
