T -I like the common expectations (poster) that helps to establish some consistency. Like in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles where the car rental lady tells Steve Martin-Sorry, that's our policy:) And sometimes it is exciting when kids respond like Steve Martin did. I believe it has helped cut down on tardies in my classes

I like the consistency. The kids getting the same message from many teachers. The expectations being enforced consistently is open to debate.

s Having a common language is very helpful. I think having the videos to reinforce the common language and expectations is also very helpful.

T-I really like that teachers are able to acknowledge individual student success and give them a chance to win in the drawing. It is a chance to involve those kids who never get an attaboy to include them in something positive.

T-It has worked really well in the Commons during lunch. Students love getting caught doing the right thing and being rewarded. Putting students' names in the PBIS binder really works to diminish bad behavior.

i think that the majority of teachers are talking positively regarding consistency. i think it would be great to survey the kids to make sure that they know the expectations.

T- It is nice that students have the same expectations for every class. It makes it easier to sub for others in the building knowing that some of the expectations are the same (tardies).

T- I am not sure that PBIS has been as effective as we wanted it to be. I have not seen a huge change in student behavior especially with the use of cell phones!! Student tardies have drastically been reduced in my classroom which has been a nice positive change. I am still having a big problem with the cell phone because I am not able to teach and see when they are using the cell phones. As soon as they have open work time, they seem to think they it is totally fine to take out their phones and do whatever they want even though we have posters in our room that say electronic devices are prohibited.

T: I've had experience with PBIS at an elementary level. It has been very effective there. The question, at the high school level, is how much time does reteaching expectations take and/or will it be done?

T consistency is good, but inconsitency in understanding what is a major/minor is a huge issue

Sometimes I feel like it allows the street smart kids more opportunities to misbehave. Sophomores, juniors and seniors know the expectations, but we are still reteaching the behaviors. I feel like it lowers the expectations in the classrooms.

T: I'll be honest. I haven't felt that the payoff was worth the effort. I haven't been very diligent myself because of the fear of disruption and lost time. I plan to make a better effort with PBIS moving forward

T- You can carry the PBIS acknowledgement cards in your ID holder so they are handy to use.

t: I appreciate that we as a staff have a common language as it relates to behavior to use with students and a common set of expectations for our building. I have had many opportunities to address inappropriate behavior by referring to the Expectations Chart as well a rewarding positive behaviors using it.

T--The videos are great, but should actually be positive in nature. The latest video included many statements similar to "Don't stop in the hallway," or "Don't ___." These interventions should be statements of expectations. "Be conscious of others in the hallway," or something of the like.
