Guy fawkes and his group of  conspirators had rented house right by the Houses of Parliament and managed to get 36 barrels of gunpowder into a cellar of the House of Lords. The explosive expert Guy Fawkes had been left in the cellars to light up the fuse. He was caught by guards who decided to have a look at the cellars. Guy Fawkes was then caught and sent to the tower of London to get tortured, and finally gave away the names of the people involved in his group.
