Objective for ELL and Activity-- Use a coordinate plane and label initially in numbers rather than the roman numerals typically used. Combine roman numerals in addition to numbers. Show x axis values as “positive” and + and y values “negative” and -.  Have the student label and match the plots ordered pairs. Scaffold out the labels as the student shows mastery in understanding the numerical ordering of the pairs.
