After completing the travelling learning experience and knowing a little more now about trains here in NZ. Students will be curious as to how much all this transportation affect our environment.

Students will:

Investigate the environmental impact of train travel, including emissions, energy efficiency, and carbon footprint.

Compare trains to other modes of transportation like cars and airplanes in terms of environmental impact.

Firstly, students will investigate how does transport in general affect our environment. They will design a poster sharing their knowledge about this topic.

Secondly, students will investigate how other modes of transport affect our environment and present their findings using a graph

Lastly, students will investigate possibilites on how to solve the problem that travel has a huge effect on our environment. It does not matter what they come up with and how difficult it may be to come up with it, but as long as they can justify their decisions and back up their claim that it can save our environment I am interested to hear their solutions. They will present these in our own class "Case of the Environment" slam where they will have 2 mins to do the following:

State the problem, why it is a problem?

The idea that will fix our problem, how will this fix our problem?

If their idea is a success, what will the success look like in the future?

Be ready to answer and reply to any questions from the audience.
