She doesn't know where to seat, so he lets her sit with him. Since Park was part of the popular group he was scared that people would make fun of him for letting Eleanor sit with him. On the way back from a hard school day for Eleanor, Park lets her sit with him again. Eleanor then goes home, where she clearly doesn't want to be either. About to cry, Eleanor then sees her mom, where she describes what she looks like and compares herself to her mom. This stood out to me because earlier she described her mom as this beautiful princess with an elegant body. But then continues to describe what she looks like by comparing herself to her. Many girls today do the same; they compare their bodies to other girls and think they are not enough. But every girl is more than

He wasn't sure because he feared getting made fun of by people in his class if he let Eleanor sit with him. But then feared what his family would say if he didn't let Eleanor sit with him.  

If I was Park, I would let Eleanor sit with me. I may get made fun of, but if I was Eleanor, I would want a place where I could sit on the bus. Its the right thing to do.

While this was happening, Eleanor has a hard time at home with listening to the fights with her mom and dad and has a hard time at school where she is bullied. Eleanor then gets a call from her dad asking her to babysit his kids while his new wife and him go out. She was unsure because of the bad relationship he has with her and he has with her mother, but she decides to go because she will get 10 dollars and will be able to call Park there. So, she asks Park for his number so she can call him when she gets to her dads house. Later that day, she gets picked up by her dad and goes over. She notices how much money he has and how nice of a house he has. She describes how she wishes she took a bigger bag so she could take some food home for her siblings. Eleanor is going to describe how at home they dont have a lot of money, so they have a hard time affording regular stuff like toilet paper and food. Her dad is then going to let her babysit more. I think that this is going to happen because her dad seems like an ok guy; he is starting to care more about Eleanor, but is still a jerk. I also think that he still cares about Eleanor because he wouldn't have asked her to babysit when he clearly can afford any babysitter. 

I also think Eleanor and Park are going to be official. They seem to be getting closer and enjoy their presence. Clearly, the family is having a hard time officially and with the father figure of the house- Richie. Richie can be seen as abusive and the problem of the family as when he had a fight with Eleanors mother, she was hurt and got a black eye. They are also having a hard time financially which is taking a toll on Eleanor and her relationship with Park. She doesn't want to take too much from him; books and music, but also doesn't have the money to get her own. She also wants to thank him somehow, but doesn't know how because she doesn't have the money. - If I was Eleanor I would also be having a hard time, but to be able to face my conflict I would talk about it with Park and what's happening with my life, because maybe he will understand more.

Parks conflict is still making his relationship with Eleanor public. He still gets a little embarrassed when they hold hands, or do something that could make it clear to others that they like each other. And when his friends ask about his love life, he avoids her name. - If I was Park, I wouldn't be embarrassed and do what I want to do with Eleanor; hold hands in public...
