10:00am jan 15 1947

A lady found the body of Elizabeth Short, an up and rising Hollywood actor. But at the time it didn't look like a body, it was white similar to a mannequin that was even cut in half like mannequins today.

Despite the cuts found on the body beforehand it was obvious that it had been cleaned and drained of blood before it was found. It was also noted that with her cuts she also suffer from a concussion, hemorrhage and shock. The cuts were oddly clean professional even.

The cops got an envelope sent to them with things such as her social security card, birth certificate, photos, and even her address book with missing pages. With fingerprints being ridden off with gasoline as well as the letter being made with scraps of newspaper.

After hundreds of suspects, One of the suspects who stood out was Robert Red Manley, he knew Elizabeth only a month before and was the last seen with her alive six days before she was found dead when dropping her off at a Biltmore hotel. He was innocent after Multiple test and interviews.

Next Suspect was Ralph Asdel, a former detective of the case and he said he was able to gather enough ideas and what he heard from passersby of a man dressed in black with a black car. Funnily enough he didnt mention it and said it was due to “lack of evidence” which is why he never searched for the man or reported it. Although in 1997 he believed the man he found was the black dahlia murderer.

And Last but not least. Steve Hodel, a retired detective, published a research where he said the murderer was his dad George Hodel. With multiple reasons stated and/ or mentioned one of the most intriguing reasons was because George was a Doctor of a venereal clinic in L.A. Aswell as photos Steve found who looked like Elizabeth and a last bit of claim was that a similar incident happened in the Philippines where after he moved there for some time in 1967 a woman in manila was found dead in a empty lot where he lived ½ a kilometer away like the Black Dahlia.
