new sentence he was starting and lapsed into a somnambulatory abstraction." (Fitzgerald, 75) This is very interesting because as soon as Gatsby and Wolfsheim came in contact, Wolfsheim was put in a trance type state. 
Then later on Gatsby tells us that Mr. Meyer fixed the rigged 1919 World Series. Which, if true, would not be easy to do alone by any gambler.
