In today's world it is highly important that students know how to determine between false and true information. Students also need to know how to find correct information for themselves. With social media so readily avaiable to kids these days it can be difficult for students to be able to differentiate between right and wrong. As an educator going into Physical Education there are multiple ways of exercising, dieting, and other health topics. There are many different opions on which way is the ''right" way. As an educator it is my job to teach them how to find out what is the right way for them, and to teach them how to find credible information.

Why is this article incorrect?

This information is found from Web Md

The main reason why this article is incorrect is because not one type of workout/exercise targets specially just belly fat.

You can not target specific parts of fat on the body. There are many other factors that go into fat loss.

Students might be mislead by this information because most people workout and diet to reduce body fat and belly fat

A reason why this could be valid is because these exercises can help reduce weight loss and fat, so when students see this they might think that if they do these certain exercises that they will lose "belly fat"

Why does this article claim it as "true/vaild"

This article was found from Clean Eatz Kitchen.

One reason why this topic " Should I exercise on an empty stomach" could be valid is because when it comes to working out there are many different opinions for what is the correct way to workout.

Some people like working out in the morning without eating and some people prefer to have some sort of fuel source before their workouts.

Working out is mostly individual opinion based. It is whatever works best for you.

Another reason why exercising on an empty stomach may be true is for what type of workout you are doing. If someone does more low intensity workouts then they might not need that fuel source to get them through their workout than someone who is running multiple miles.

I think one of the main ways to incorporate media literacy in the classroom is to teach students that not everything they see on social media is true.

One way as an educator is I could show them proper technique/form videos for certain types of workouts and exercises. This will help students learn correctly and also not get hurt.
