         <description><![CDATA[<div>There is connection between maths and dance, for example, the centre of gravity and the search for balance.&nbsp; I remember Entity show, whose choreographer is Wayne McGregor. His work is known for its vocabulary of movement, for its integration of dance with film and visual art, and for its incorporation of computer technology and biological science. In his show dance enters Mathematics by applying body technology as a program to develop a mathematical and geometric organization of movements.&nbsp;</div><div>The panels delimiting the scene of the second part of the show rise and become screens on which numbers are projected, Pythagorean theorem, Fibonacci series, golden section and geometric diagrams.&nbsp;</div><div>In the ground projections of the mathematical concepts, the dancers come together, who, recalling the depictions of Leonardo da Vinci, become living elaborations of those concepts. The numbers flowing in the pictures projected on the panels are entities, as are gestures and dance steps. As with a simple number, it is possible to generate an infinite and random series of combinations and theorems that regulate our knowledge, even a classic dance step can be modelled into infinite sequences.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>By researching the relationship between  dance and Maths, I found that:<br>The Hungarian Rudolf Laban (1879-1958) devoted his entire life to the description of the movement, both symbolic and geometric.His interest in mathematics and dance led him to structure an annotation system , referred to by his name "LABANOTATION", still in use today. In his opinion, any dance, regardless of origin and style, can be described and then reproduced, by using a language with mathematics (geometry) or symbolic. <br>In standard labanotation , a vertical three-line staff represents the performer. The center line divides the staff into right and left columns, which represent the main body parts. Each direction symbol is based on a rectangle and indicates four movement factors: its shape shows the direction of movement; its shading indicates level; its lenght represents the duration of the movement; its placement on the staff indicates the part of the body that is in action</div>]]></description>

Students had to calculate how many dancers form a figure. Technically it is not always so in both terms and counts, but that's what it takes to know how to set up choreography.</div>]]></description>

I think the activities shown in the video are really amazing. I&#39;m going to propose some  project work on Maths applied to sport  together with the P.E. and the  Maths teacher at   the next  teachers  council meeting.  Dance and Maths combined is a great way teachers can  help pupils memorise or make sense of mathematical concepts.
