This shows the hypocrisy of human nature.

Question 5: The ironic part of the consequences of the kids lighting a fire was that there was no smoke with the controlled fire but it is now making lots of smoke by burning the whole island. I think that the burning of the island and the drumroll represent the order of the island already falling apart.

Jacks highest priority is to kill a pig. This tells us that he lust for blood and redemption for letting the pig go the first time. 

Question 2: All of the boys except ralph, simon, and jack are behaving unresponsively and laid back when they should be gathering food and building shelter. Golding is telling us that The hard work of few helps many even if the many did not help. The other boys seem to lack the will to survive and the will to help the Simon and Ralph. 

Question 5: This chapter reveals that simon is more mature than most of the boys and more hardworking. This has an effect on their behavior as it gives them more confidence. I think this makeup symbolizes the feral-ness of the boys slowly coming out.

Question 4: The boys themselves are very worked up and happy with the result of the hunt and almost acting like animals themselves. 

Question 5:  Ralph asserts his chiefdenship by standing where the hunters need to go but instead of moving the hunter build the fire in another place.
