I see greater relevance between Stellar 2.0 to the real world. I even see how it prepares them to take on Literature later on in Sec sch. And the ring fenced reading period is most welcomed as it enables us to help them cultivate a love for reading.

I enjoy the use of different texts and modes of learning such as authentic videos of the soccer game.

Very clear principles and processes spelt out. Will need some time to adjust to pedagogy for EL teaching in the new syllabus. Please carry on for another ten years before making major changes.

I am excited to see that STELLAR 2.0 is teaching children about literacy in the future world. It is no longer just being able to read a text well but also able to discern between fact and opinion and be able to distinguish the intentions of a text creator. These are lifelong skills that would better arm our children for the unpredictable and fast-paced future world. It is also fun to teach!

I appreciate that there is more clarity of the EL syllabus 2020 in STELLAR 2.0. I think it is important for EL teachers to understand these principles before using the STELLAR instructional guides. I like that there is clearer application of grammar items taught e.g. how modals are used in emails to vary the purpose and tone.

I have enjoyed teaching the first 2 units of the STELLAR 2.0 to my Primary 5 students. Although time is always a major factor, it pays to lose time in order to gain more. Starting right is essential and I have gained a clearer understanding of how the revised syllabus was designed based on the principles of EL teaching & learning (CLLIPS) and how the teaching process is to be implemented based on ACoLADE, using GRR and DI.

In a classroom with students of diverse backgrounds and learning needs, DI is key but implementing it for a packed lesson schedule plus numerous school programmes is a tall order. Am looking forward to more support in the form of available supporting resources

With ELS 2020, we are developing 21st century EL learners and prepares them well for the wide use of EL language, specially in authentic situations. I like how EL learning taps on inquiry learning.

I like how DI are explicitly planned out for the different components of the EL syllabus. This is essential as a lot of us have mixed ability /progress students in the class.

These videos and slides serve as a good reminder for us to cater to the different needs of the students, bearing in mind the principles of EL, ACcOLADE, GRR and whole-part-whole approach.

I like how the STELLAR2.0 syllabus progresses very nicely from the middle primary lessons. The students are given more autonomy in the upper primary level and the contexts of resources provided are pitched to their levels of interest.

The principles and processes are clearly spelt out. I can also see how it is relevant to the real world. Together with the shifts in the revised PSLE syllabus, the teaching of EL has definitely transformed with the introduction of STELLAR at the upper primary level. What would be key would be how this can be carried out effectively in the classroom with the limited time, space and even hardware available. Unlike the secondary school classrooms where each child is equipped with a PLD, the difficulty of getting each student onboard and online, or even the equal distribution of limited hardware across the different classes and levels is a struggle.

A good refresher on the ELS 2020 learning principles and the learner desired outcomes as well as CLLIPS and ACoLADE. This has got me to reflect on the EL lessons that I conduct in class.

The principles and processes are spelt out clearer with examples given from the resources. Will be more deliberate in my approach as I plan and enact the lessons with the resources provided.

It will be such a waste if the teachers are not able to carry out the lessons based on the guidelines because of school-based programs that need to be completed as well.

I see connections between the new PSLE format and the lessons in the GL. The challenge is for teachers to see exactly which lesson/skill is translated to in the new PSLE format paper. Self-reflection is of utmost importance since it is connected to the default mode of the brain, therein hopefully helping students remember their learning.
