The Muslim majority areas of India should be merged so that the Indian Muslims may have an area where they could establish their independent state. 2. The Muslims who are in minority in the independent units and areas, should be consulted with and their interests and objectives should be provided with the protection in the constitution. 3. Since the present constitution does not provide protection to the Muslim interests, it is not acceptable to the Indian Muslims at all. 4. The Lahore Resolution was a formal statement, which sought the creation of a separate Muslim state. The political statement, written by Zafarullah Khan and other prominent members of the ‘All-India Muslim League ,’ proposed the creation of an ‘independent state’ based on predominantly Muslim population.
