It was great to hear Mike and Lance's perspectives on the industry and on the skills that young people need to be successful. I loved how much they emphasized reading comprehension skills and that people need to be able to do things like read a manual and apply what it says to practice that really reminds me why my job is so important. It has inspired me to integrate some technical reading and writing lessons into my classroom in the coming years--it's such an important skill!
