I have not created a Quiz before. It will be worth 15% and timed just before the mid-period break (there is an essay worth 60% at end of course).
Do you have a quiz that I can look at?

So I want to convert some activities to a LOL lesson. It will focus on learning and practicing the basic skill of identifying joint movements.

A critical part of my First Year coordinator (and course coordinator) role in the Physio program in 2018 is to support first year students who are struggling. As I work part-time and will not be present in all teaching sessions, it is important that I have an available teaching presence that is sustainable in my workload. I want to provide a regular (weekly?) chat opportunity to answer student questions and concerns about the course/program/Uni, and to demonstrate to students that I am interested in them by regularly being ‘seen’ online.

Hi Caroline, I've used Quizzes in a course based on weekly readings. As Heather has indicated, set a specific time for the quiz. One of the tricks I've used is to make sure both the answers in the quiz are randomised and the questions themselves are randomized. This way if two students think they sit next to each other and work together it is highly unlikely they will get the same questions in the same pattern. I've also included questions that require more than one response and have set wrong responses to 'take marks away'. This is for those students who think they can just guess an answer. I'd be happy to send you a link to an old course of mine that used a quiz (I'm not using them so much these days)

Lydia Love your padlet Caroline F. We are using them currently in UniSA online.Pros: great for brainstorming, icebreakers, quick comments, uploading photos for comment etcCons: you cannot monitor posts via learning analytics, I have had a few issues with author not turning up. Also struggling a bit when there are lots of students and long posts it gets a bit unwieldy. Operator error? You are also having two issues I have had with padlet, posted comments are anonymous and also you have to 'slide' over to post and see all the posts- a new student might struggle to find the pink post button! Not sure how to fix either. Lydia

Caroline, moodle chat tool is a bit clunky and as many other staff dont use this feature, students may be unsure about this. I too am going to give it a try with the sole purpose of letting students know that I am here (live) in case they have any issues they need to resolve. With F2F teaching, they have access to me. With online, they worry who to go to when they have a problem. Knowing I am around may provide them with reassurance and comfort....well that is the plan anyway :) Saravana

One very good piece of advice I have heard (from Sandy I think) was to plan it out first - it sounds so simple but I found drawing it up as a mud map first ie where a student will move to if they do not answer a question successfully etc made it a lot easier to develop.
