"I am agreed, and would I had given him the / best horse in Padua to begin his wooing that would / throughly woo her, wed her, and bed her, and rid / the house of her."
(1. 1. 144-147)

This quote from Gremio is problematic because he is talking about Katherine as if she is an object that they need to get rid of rather than a person to be respected and cherished. This shows Gremio's motives in that he doesn't truly care about Bianca because if he did he would not have cared if he had to wait for her. He wants to possess Bianca like someone who has an expensive piece of rare art. He wants her so no ones else can have her and to say that he married the sought after daugter of Baptista.

"Or seek for rule, supremacy, and sway/ When they are bound to serve, love, and obey" (5.2.179-180)."

At the very end of the play, Kathryn explains to the other wifes and people at the dinner that wifes must obey their husbands and do everything they say. This is problematic because Pertrucio has "tamed" her to the point where she has no more self worth. She sees herself as just a wife who must serve and obery her husband instead of someone who has their own thoughts and oppinions.
