Here is the scenario: in FREN3375, students do weekly readings over the course of semester, uploading answers to preparation questions before class. Last year they uploaded to Turnitin, so I had a copy to mark, and they had a copy to which to refer during the tutorial. For marking purposes it would be easier to have the tute preparation carried out in Inspera. BUT if they can’t keep a copy of their answers, then they can’t refer to them in tute discussion and so the benefit of the prep is largely lost.

So you would not need to add 10 mins additional time to a 15 minute task. 
If you have an exam (final or mid-sem) that is 60mins duration, the text to put in your ECP is: 
The exam will have an additional ten minutes of scheduled time. Students are encouraged to use this time to settle, read questions and commence working if they wish.
If your exam has a file upload question where students need to create something outside Inspera and then upload it, students get another 15 minutes of "file upload" time.
So if you had a 60 mins or more exam in Inspera that contained a file upload question, students would get:-
  • 10 mins additional time
  • 60 mins working time
  • 15 mins file upload time
 = 1 hour and 25 mins.
In Inspera, when scheduling and setting up the exam, in the duration box, you would select 01:25 and in reality, it just means that students get 1hr 25 mins working time because you cannot stop them using their file upload time as working time. 

If there is more than 1 file upload question in the 60 mins or more exam (and think about how you would like to allocate your marking when setting out your questions), students still just get the 15 mins file upload time. They do not get 15 mins per file upload question.
