It's part of the human experience and having moments of tension like this in or out of class, especially during debate, is important.</p><p><br/></p><p>If you're crossing a boundary into anger or aggression that is obviously a different thing and not okay in this space.</p><p><br/></p><p>I think it's healthy to have those conversations and hope that more people are willing to engage in them. Especially when this is specifically meant to be a forum for these discussions.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I think that Steph brings up a really good point, people are very quick to jump and say that you disagree with someone, and they cannot always explain or give a reasoning on why they disagree with them. And I think that goes with the rules of having an open mind. Some people do not always have an open mind in the discussions, and it is clear. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I agree with what Cade said. Sometimes it's hard to be actively speaking and sharing your ideas and opinions in a room that might have different opinions. It's important that as a class we are welcoming to ALL opinions. We need to take the time to actually listen to what others are saying and if you disagree, there is a respectful way to do it. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Patrice pushes the idea that our class should be a community. It’s safe to say that most people in this class agree with this/want this in the classroom despite maybe not knowing each other the best. I think a big part of people being more open on the padlet versus in class is because we don’t want the conflict. We need to start saying things outside of the padlet because hearing each other’s viewpoints is important in becoming a community. The main thing some of us need to work on is keeping calm and not talking over one another.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I think it was very passionate and could've been more respectful. But I also think the way the rest of the circle responded could've been better as well. Like Steph said body language matters. The circle also has the responsibility to reel the conversation back in, clarify, and move forward. The amount of side conversations, facial reactions, etc made the environment more uncomfortable in my opinion. I was super distracted afterwards and felt frustrated because we allowed it distract from the conversations </p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

I personally see a lot of times that people sort of just shut down and don’t wanna hear the other person out. So for them to talk more about their disagreement I think is what the world needs more of, regardless if people never come to an agreement, just simply having a conversation I think is more mature step in a society where people usually try to “bash” each other.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I love want Cade said. Teachers are just public speakers. However, talking amongst your peers is a lot harder than talking to people older or younger than you. This is at least how I feel since, like Kingston, I am also not good with public speaking. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I feel like I should add something after. I think this was a great discussion on the fact of how a conversation should go. As I said, I disagree with how the conversation between me and Michael was viewed, but I will 100% change how I go about it in the future in ANY conversation. There is a middle ground that I can come too. I do not want to make people uncomfortable in talks such as this, so I will make sure I won't do so. Everyone's voice matters.
