Hey guys, my name is Jalayah Ray, but people call me Laya . I am 19 years old from Charleston, SC, and a sophomore Accounting major in the process of trying to switch my major to Computer Science.

Since I started in accounting it might help me in the long run when I graduate with a Computer Science Degree. For example the accounting could help me get a job as a Cybersecurity analyst at a bank.

Some of my unique qualities are that I'm motivated and an adaptable student. Some may say the transition from accounting to computer science will be hard but I believe that I can take what I learned from accounting and add it in with computer science.

Some of the fun facts about me are that I like to listen to music, I enjoy playing basketball, I love pasta and sushi, I read from time to time, I like binge watching new shows ( I recommend Blindspot if you like action/crime) but I'm currently watching Prison Break. I also love spending time with my best friend and going to the gym.

Memorable Moment💭

A memorable moment for me that has impacted me and my family is when my niece was born. The first time I saw her and held her I just thought "wow babies really are small". I was the only child left in the house so it was an adjustment when she came to visit. Not a bad one but interesting because it was always quiet but now I would have someone there with me. It changed the atmosphere in our family, giving us something precious to celebrate and look forward to every day. For me personally, it was a turning point. I felt a sense of responsibility and pride, knowing that I would play an important role in her life as she grew.
