         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Okonkwo kills Ikemefuma because he is afraid of being thought to be weak. Weakness is associated with women.&nbsp;</li><li>"Okonkwo drew his machete and cut him down. He was afraid of being thought weak (37)".</li><li>Onkonkwo was ashamed of his father because he could not provide for his family &amp; did not take a title.&nbsp;</li><li>In Ibo culture, men who do not take a title &amp; were poor were considered to be on the same level as women.&nbsp;</li><li>"He (Unoka) was poor and his wife and children had barely enough to eat (4)".</li><li>Okonkwo didn't think his father was manly because he couldn't stand the sight of blood or war. "Unoka was never happy when it came to wars. He was in fact a coward and could not bear the sight of blood (4)".</li></ul><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>
