One night the Prince has a masquerade ball. In his huge castle they have a lot of security to try and lock out this ghost/plague called the Red Death. Poe spends a lot of the story describing the rooms and the people at the ball. Then the Prince sees one guest in a mask that resembles the Red Death. He tells the guard to grab the guy, but nobody wants to touch him.

Then the prince chases the guest and finally catches up with him. He tries to stab him but Prince Prospero falls dead. The other guests come in and see that the masked guest isn't a person at all, and has no humanly figure. Then all of the guests die.

About five or six months into his stay, Prospero decides to have a spectacular masquerade ball . The setup is weird and wild, just like the Prince who designs it. The ball takes place in a suite of seven rooms, each one dressed up in a different color: blue, purple, green, orange, white, violet, and black. The black room, which looks like death, is awfully creepy.

When the clock strikes midnight. Everyone stops dancing and falls momentarily silent, as usual. Then some of the dancers notice a guest wearing a scandalous costume. he's dress as a corpse, a corpse who died of the Red Death. When Prince Prospero sees the ghostly guest, he's furious that someone would have the nerve to wear such a costume, and orders him to be seized and unmasked.

The Red Death masquerader passes within a few feet of the Prince and starts to walk through the rooms, heading toward the black room. Prospero loses it and runs after him in a rage, drawing his dagger as he approaches. But just as Prospero reaches the edge of the black room, the corpselike guest suddenly whirls around to face him, and Prospero falls to the ground, dead. The shocked crowd throws itself at the guest, only to discover in horror that there's nothing underneath the mask and costume. The Red Death itself has come to the party. One by one the guests die, spilling their blood all over Prospero's lavish rooms. The candles go out, leaving only "darkness, decay, and the Red Death."

After having spent five months the prince decided to make a masquerade party. The rooms were decorated in different colors. Then during the party some guests could observe a man who was by the clock, approaching slowly. When it arrived near the prince the masked stranger killed him and so most of the guests realized that it was the red death.

The most important part is when the prince goes running to pick up a knife but the red death attacks him before he can do something.

When the guest left the house he saw that it disappeared.

Story tells about the narrador received a letter from his childhood friend, in that letter his friend asks to stay at his house to keep his company.

When the narrator goes to the house it was very old and old, there lived the whole generation of Rodrigo Usher.

The friend of the narrator name is Rodrigo Usher, is a tall and thin man who faces the death of his sister Lady Madaline because of a strange death or hereditary to cheer him up. His friend accompanies him playing instruments, reading and painting.

Rodrigo Usher's paintings were usually drawings of dark caves and he liked to read books on palmistry and charms. Rodrigo once wrote a poem, the palace of the apparitions, eight days after the burial of Lady Madaline in the basement of the house. Usher fell a storm that worries the narrator because the house has a weak structure, in addition Rodrigo Usher was upset and depressed by burying his sister in the mausoleum of the house.

So to ignore the storm his friend decides to read him, the sad madman, who is about a paladin who wants to enter a castle by force who wants to kill a dragon, as he reads the book he hears strange sounds and Rodrigo there Usher confesses that he buried his sister alive and that the sounds he produced was from her and suddenly there will be the door for Lady Madaline to hug her brother Rodrigo and his friend runs away and terrified and when he left he saw how the house collapses and leaving the two brothers buried.

Roderik was afraid of the mansion, he hasn’t left the mansion in years.

The sister of Roderik who suffers from cactalepsy, Lady Madeline, had died a few days ago. The dead woman was taken to a family crypt by Roderik and the protagonist.

One night Usher and the protagonist find themselves unable to sleep. They decide to pass away the scary night by reading a book while the protagonist read the story of the young Etheredo the sounds of the novel from the fictional story can be heard resounding from below the mansion.

Usher freaks out, he jumps up and declares that they buried madeline alive and now she is coming back. The door of the room bow open where the old friends were, who are shocked to see Madeline.

She throws herself at Usher, who falls to the floor, and after agony, dies along with his sister

The protagonist escapes from the mansion while it collapses.
