This got me thinking of the relevance of texts that we're teaching in classes. Even something published in 2019 can be outdated for some people.
I think you call did a good job of connecting all of the literacies together

I didn't realize that there were various modes of scientific literature. The way you split them up into three sections was helpful in understanding how to read scientific literature. Great work!!!

I enjoyed learning that scientists allow curiosity and wonder to motivate them to pursue discoveries. Y'all did a great job presenting confidently and clearly, and made the content relatable and interesting!

a refresher of being in class and to find out the percentages of cellphone usage in teenagers. I remember a day when I would look out the window and that was my distraction from class since cellphones weren't invented yet.

It was great to try and piece together what was happening ourselves but a little bit disappointing not to get to read the other articles to complete the story

Using local history is a great way to access prior knowledge and get students interested in what is being taught.

I really loved looking over the old documents and trying to guess what happened and then learning what happened. I think that is a way more fun way of learning rather than just sitting down and getting the story and filling out a work sheet. I felt like we were solving the game of clue because we all had different little puzzle pieces! THANK YOU :)

I learned so much! Not only about how to think like a historian, but also about the local history in Humboldt. I think it is so great that you were able to find local pictures and articles for students to look at. I also think you're activity was very creative and interactive.

Wow, history goes way more in depth than I realized! That activity was challenging but really interesting to learn about the local history here in Humboldt. Thinking like a historian is a useful tool to have in my teacher toolbox!

I loved the prompt its a fun short assignment to get students going. Could totally see this as a larger assignment too.

I learned about the different ways ELA could go and had a lot of fun coming up with a story about water.

This was a really fun prompt to experiment with. It was cool getting myself in the "River" headspace. I liked playing around with trying to artistically articulate my ideas about what a river is/it's role in the world.

I love being an ELA insider; I definitely didn't know those prompts being described were Shakespeare.. I certainly never understood those plays when we read them in high school!! I bet y'all are going to be amazing and engaging English teachers after seeing your presentation.

The different colors/ text sizes was pretty distracting for me and made it a little hard for me to read.

Interpreting physical literacy is super difficult & you guys did a great job! It was also really engaging and we were able to connect your presentation to our own experiences.

This was so interesting to think about. You don't tend to think about how to you read in PE, but it makes total sense that there would be reading involved in PE.

Physical literacy is much deeper than I thought, especially if you examine literacy in every sport or activity! I think y'all did a great job giving examples of how literacy is evident in PhysED, I was a cross country runner in high school and didn't know a lot of the information shared which is cool to look back on. It was very involved which made it engaging. It was great to be able to both look at creating "text" as well as looking at reading it. You also all did a great job of presenting your content and looking like you knew what you were talking about.
