Question webs help students organize their thinking. The question goes in the middle and students web their answers on the outside. This strategy can be applied to inferential math questions. Another strategy for question webs is putting a topic in the center and allowing the webs to be questions students have about that concept. These webs promote discussion both led by teachers and peers to enhance and extend student thinking.

"While reading students begin to notice how the questions lead them to make mathematical observation, just the way asking questions as a comprehension strategy can engender a deeper understanding of mathematics. When the connection between asking questions and increased understanding is explicitly examined and discussed by the class, students will be encouraged to ask their own questions to facilitate their own understanding."
