1.What are the differences between qualitative and quantitative research?
Qualitative research is not based on answering a hypothesis and is for understanding social phenomena, but quantitative research relies on an objective look at factual data to provide answers.

2.What is a hypothesis? Is it used in quantitative or qualitative research?
It's used in quantitative. Put simply, a hypothesis is a specific, testable prediction. More specifically, it describes in concrete terms what you expect will happen in a certain circumstance. A hypothesis is used to determine the relationship between two variables, which are the two things that are being tested.

3.What are the variables? Are they used in quantitative or qualitative research?
It's used in quantitative. The variables are like what affects the final outcome in research, like scientific research uses variables. A variable is any factor, trait, or condition that can exist in differing amounts or types. An experiment usually has three kinds of variables: independent, dependent, and controlled.

4.What are key methods of data collection in qualitative and quantitative research?
qualitative research:
-interviews
-surveys
-group discussions
-observations
quantitative research:
-Survey questionnaires.
-Structured (systematic) observations.
-Secondary analysis of data sets.

1. Quantitative Research puts emphasis on the quantification in the collection and analysis of data and objective facts

Qualitative Research on the other hand is subjective and specific, it's based on human emotion and thinking and opinions rather than facts.
2. Hypothesis is a proposed explanation for a phenomenon, without any assumption of truth, it is a specific testable prediction. For quantitative research, the hypothesis used is a statistical hypothesis, meaning that the hypothesis must be tested using statistical rules. In qualitative research, a hypothesis is used in the form of a clear statement concerning the problem to be investigated.

3. Qualitative- Study of the whole, not variables.
