The French liberals believed that Italy should see themselves as one. The restored kings of the Italian states did not like the idea of this change. Riots started to break out in Italy mostly because of people wanting different things. Exposition of the thousand happened and Giuseppe Garibaldi conquered most states. Finally, in 1861 Italy was unified with king Victor Emmanuel the 2nd being the ruler.

There were many leaders before the unification of Italy. Most of them being rulers who didn't want to unify Italy. Also ones who were rioting against any conjoining of countries. After Giuseppe took over the country was finally one. With it's very first leader being Victor Emanuel.

The Germans chose Prussia to lead them under the wing of Bismarck. After defeating Austria the king wanted to keep overruling other countries but Bismarck disagreed. He angered the French by saying rumors about them and that made them want to go to war. Soon after he started going for smaller countries. Then after unified Germany as one whole nation.

Otto Von Bismarck was the main person who brought all of the German speaking countries together. He led many army's in war against other countries trying to add them on to Germany. Bismarck first went to Austria and many smaller countries after that. In the end Bismarck is one of the main reasons that the countries came together as one.

After the Napoleonic wars ended the ruler of Spain decided to send military forces to northern countries. Mostly to take over those countries in South America. This started riots throughout Colombia and Venezuela led by Simon Bolivar. Then later gained independence when all of the countries split.

King Ferdinand the seventh led the military armies to the northern parts of Colombia. A serious of civil wars broke out. Causing a lot of republican forces to flee and reorganize under the wing of Francisco De Paula Santander. Simon Bolivar joined forces with them and soon became the leader of Grand Colombia before the countries split.
