         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chuck attended Gallaudet for two years and then received his bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in painting from the Rochester Institute of Technology/National Technical Institute for the Deaf (RIT/NTID) in 1974. While at RIT/NTID&nbsp;he was on the football team for a short while as a defensive lineman and joined the NTID drama club as both an actor and set painter.</div>]]></description>

Before his death Chuck Baird joined with other deaf artists who were also interested in expressing Deaf experiences through art and he started a foundation to help future Deaf artists start their careers.</div>]]></description>
