But why is it important to use different kinds of storytelling to share the experience of people from the past? Because whether than speaking, or an essay, that can only inform the background story of a person from the past, other ways, like drawing that includes, face or facial expression of the person from the past would contribute the audience to feel emotions, and to perhaps empathies of what had happened to the person from the past, which would teach or inform the audience about the history of that person.

I see a black girl, with a white dress. I see two man behind the girl, and two man in front of the girl. The clothes those four man has on, has a mark that is similar to the police symbol, that I thought of the possibility of them being a police as a guardian of the girl. I am not sure, but I think that when black people are displayed on a artwork, it is often related to race, which I thought that this artwork might have been something that is related, or about black life matters. I wonder why there are tomatoes splashed on the wall. The tomato made me a flashback of how people used to throw pebbles towards or at black people, or people in specific religion, or in specific nation. I have thought that maybe the tomato in the artwork might have been something related to demos, of race (white and black), which the threw tomato on the wall might have been a hate towards the black girl, or towards black people. I wonder what the intention of the artist of this artwork is. I think that this artwork is not something that conveys audience that people should stop hating black people. I interpreted that the artist tried to convey audience the braveness, of the freedom, or the free spirit black people have or the girl has, ignoring hates. This is because how the black girl walks, straightforward had let me think about how strong she is, and how she does not even give a glance to the people throwing tomato.

The subject matter of this artwork is a black girl holding school supplies, this suggests that she is going to school. This is true as Ruby Briges was the first African American to attend a previously only white school. Surrounding her are sheriffs, who are seemingly protecting her. This could be because the girl is important or in danger. In the background the wall behind her has been defaced and someone has thrown a tomato at them. Written on the wall are offensive and racist terms which have been written to insult this desegregation. This could convey the unpopularity of this demographic at the time and the discrimination of black people. Her dress is a subtle way that the artist uses to draw attention to her. Her outfit provides a high contrast which draws the viewer's attention to her.
