         <title>How the arms race created competition.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1.&nbsp; Both countries wanted to prove themselves stronger. They did this by pumping out a lot of propaganda, by increasing their military's size and power, and by making technological advances in weapons.<br><br>2. The arms race created a competition between the people. Russian and American civilians were encouraged to hate each other, and also encouraged to be better workers, better inovated, and better people.<br>&nbsp;<br>3. The arms race also impacted the space race. The engines used in ICBMs and planes were also used in rockets. By increasing ICBM, plane, and rocket/missile technology, the arms race also had a huge impact on the space race.</div>]]></description>
