The giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca), also called the bamboo bear and the variegated bear, is a black-and-white mammal of the Ursidae family that is found in forested areas in western and central China. It eats especially bamboo. Previously, it was placed in the Raccoon family along with the Little Panda species, but today it is classified in the Bears family. It has been suggested that she be in her own family called Pandos (Ailuropodidae). The arguments for this are made on the skull and teeth, which do not look like those of bears. Distributed in China, it has been declared a national treasure. Inhabits mountain bamboo forests. [2]

They are active mostly in the dark part of the day. There is a dwarf anteater and a giant anteater. This mammal, found in South and Central America, is of several species.
