All very reasonable sources, however the warriors success was on the upward trend prior to these arguments, the warriors year after year made the playoffs under Jackson’s lead; it was only natural for them to trend even higher. Additionally if you take a look at the warriors competition in the finals, we see a 4 all stars, Tristan Thompson at center, Kyrie Irving, Kevin love, and arguably one of the best players of all time lebron James. Both teams had an even number of all stars. Furthermore, they are playing Lebron James in the peek of his career, on the road to the finals they had to beat one of the best scorers of all time James harden; this invalidates the argument that the competition was too weak as well. Not to mention, injuries are a part of the game,  Kawai Lenard’s injury was unfortunate but the warriors had to face the same reality with the injury of kenvin Durant the teams leading scorer, they still were able to make it to finals. My second example is the argument that Goverments should have access to individuals online information at all times. Most argue that it keeps the general population safe and if you have nothing to hide then it is not a Problem, some also argue it bolsters homeland security. All are very good points and should be taken into consideration, however obtaining access to people’s lives 25/8 is a violation of their privacy laws and for a good reason. Once our government begins invading our privacy where will they stop? It will result in a massive citizen paranoia and fear. You must switch out of soldier mindset and into scout mindset to recognize your “ignorance “. If you refuse to challenge your beliefs you will not grow, one’s dogmatic way of thinking will prevent maturity as your mind will be essentially running in place. Refusing to admit you are wrong will also not work well in a soldier mindset setting, for instance school or work, your peers and coworkers will find you hard to collaborate with as well. It is also a skill, if you do not work on that skill it diminishes, challenging your thinking also allows you to view multiple perspectives. For instance, I was playing football my sophomore year and we were playing our rivals. I went out for a pass and caught it and began to run up the sideline, it was then tackled by the defender but I believed I rolled over the defender and did not hit the ground. I argued to the ref regardless of numerous people telling me otherwise. A couple weeks later I came across photos that clearly show my knee down. My soldier mindset prevented me from considering others points of view.  Challenging thinking in society allows for innovation, evolution, and so many more endless possibilities. If we do not challenge each other thinking we will all think the same or all think differently and refuse to hear each other out. An example of this was when I was exploring YouTube and came across a video and it was titled who is the best basketball player of all time? The video contained around 8 people who refused to hear each other out and refused to steel man or practice scout mindset, this lead to no no opinions or conclusions formulated. I am writing to you to demonstrate what Bayesian thinking is and how it used. Essentially Bayesian epistemologies goal is to develop certain techniques, mature your thinking with new evidence, and become a well rounded thinker. There are many concepts and techniques to implement when it comes to Bayesian thinking, however Scout mindset and steel manning will help you achieve your goal most efficiently. First, scout mindset is being a hawk, you make astute observations of your opposition and think before you act, only when you are certain of your environment and it’s variables you act; in humans scout mindset means attempting to gather a accurate view of reality even if it goes against what we want. It is crucial to utilizing Bayes thinking as you must be able to scan scenarios using as little emotion as possible in order to not let your bias sway you too far from thinking clearly. Second, steel manning, which is a tactic of understanding your opponents argument and develop it even better then they can, then engaging with it, picking the argument apart piece by piece. This technique mixed with scout mindset allow for your explanation of their argument and your rebuttal to sway their former belief/ prior to win the debate. Both of these concepts if implemented correctly will allow for you to be on your way to thinking more efficiently and balanced allowing for a more accurate assessment of one’s reality. This is the importance of Bayesian Epistemology and its implantation, thank you.
