The activity I explored dealt with the Code of Conduct: “Be respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe.” In order to explain the meaning and significance of the Code of Conduct, the teacher had the students to visualize and sketch out what being respectful, responsible, and safe looked like in everyday life. With this activity, the teacher was able to highlight the how students viewed and interpreted the Code of Conduct.

The activity used by the teacher fits the criteria for active learning because...
- The students were responsible for working cooperatively together in their group settings to accomplish the task
- Within this activity, the students were engaged in reading, writing, talking, listening, and reflecting to put their ideas together
- Altogether the activity was engaging for students as it utilized the iPad and its application that the students were already familiar with
- The purpose of the activity was focused towards students' needs as it taught students the importance of being respectful, responsible, and being safe

I realize that this activity was designed for elementary students, however I feel that critical thinking or out of the box thinking can be further utilized and developed.
A second phase could follow after this first initial activity, where students describe how they see the Code of Conduct applied outside of the classroom.
More importantly, how is this demonstrated by their guardians, role models, family, and friends.
The emphasis of this secondary activity is that the Code of Conduct applies everywhere we go, and to everyone; not just teachers and students when they are in school.
