         <description><![CDATA[<div>As anomalias genéticas devem-se a alterações do material genético. A estas alterações dá-se o nome de <strong>mutações</strong>. Na espécie humana, estas anomalias estão associadas a muitas e variadas doenças graves de transmissão hereditária.<br>As mutações podem ocorrer a dois níveis: <strong>mutações gênicas</strong> – quando se dá uma alteração num gene passando a existir uma ou outra forma alélica desse gene; e <strong>mutações cromossômicas </strong>– trata-se de alterações a nível de porções de cromossomas, ou de cromossomas completos, ou mesmo a nível de conjuntos de cromossomas.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Durante a meiose, na formação dos gametas, pode não ocorrer a correta disjunção dos cromossomos, formando três cópias do cromossomo 21. Esta á a principal causa da Síndrome de Down, ocorrendo em 85% dos casos estudados.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Heterocromia, ou heterocromia ocular, é uma anomalia genética que pode ser hereditária, associada ou não a uma síndrome crônica, ou gerada por doenças adquiridas ao longo dos anos.<br>É caracterizada pela alteração da cor dos olhos dos mamíferos, fazendo com que a cor de um olho seja distinta do outro. A doença é comum em animais, principalmente cães e gatos, e rara em humanos, atingindo somente uma estimativa de 6 indivíduos a cada 1.000 pessoas.<figure class="attachment attachment--preview"
