In chapter 11 Reyna says "He didn't mention that he himself wasn't getting much out of his job because he was using a social security he'd bought at MacArthur park for a hundred bucks." In this video it states that African American students leave school with a bigger debt than white students. this shows that it is harder to accomplish your american dream because of your race. It also states that "African Americans need two more levels of education than their young white counterparts to have the same chance of employment". This states that African Americans have it harder to achieve their american dream compared to white people who have it easy all because of their race.
