Feb 2, 2022-Due to the mask and vaccine mandate against COVID-19, truckers were required to get vaccinated and follow these protocols. They had dheeld this protest on unsurrendered Algonquin lands, meaning it belonged to the Algonquins. The truckers had claimed that they were either Algonquins, descendents of Algonquins, or medicine men so then they could continue to use the land(all statements were false). It was against the wishes of the Algonquins and a leadeer had spoken out mentioningn that the truckers did not ask for permission and that is it not allowed on their sacred land.
