They had dheeld this protest on unsurrendered Algonquin lands, meaning it belonged to the Algonquins. The truckers had claimed that they were either Algonquins, descendents of Algonquins, or medicine men so then they could continue to use the land(all statements were false). He inhabits both the spirit world and the physical world. It is believe that he not only inhabits the living, but also boddies of water and celestial objects. Wendigo is a demon spirit. It is believed that individuals who get lost and wander in the wilderness become hosts to this spirit and they only way to get rid of it is by killing the person and burning the body to rubble.
