(6)&nbsp;<br><br>The culture Ishmeal Beah grew up with involved listening to rap music. He describes it as a healing process to him so he tells the story of his first encounter with rap music. He loved rap music so much he ended up starting a rap/dance group with his brothers and best friend.</div>]]></description>

(Beah 41).&nbsp;<br><br>Beah is about to get revenge for the rebels. In his heart he feels the revenge is unecessary but he doesn't want to die so he sucks it up. He later than realizes people like himself couldn't be trusted because of what mass genocide the RUF has committed.</div>]]></description>

He got his gun from the army he was working with and he was proceeding to say that it felt like it was a part of him. Ishmeal says, "I stood there...use it well." (124).<br><br>Ishmael at this point has been manipulated into thinking that he is part of something that so right for his community and his late family. He has lost all control of humanity, remorse,  and feeling for society. </div>]]></description>

Goodbye squad leader I tapped him on the shoulder again, I couldn't salute him in return."(beah 180)<br><br>Beah didn't salute in return because he wanted to leave that life behind and he didn't want to have flashbacks from the war. He never saw Alhaji again, so he just left on a good term with him and just said goodbye.</div>]]></description>

Very big impact on him when he starts to suffer from the Evil taken over him.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ishmael met some friends from Sierra Leone while on his journey to find his family. They all have a moment of happiness when they get out of trouble and they start to make jokes. Ishmael describes the happiness by saying "We look like... to dry ourselves," (90)&nbsp;<br><br>Ishmael and his friends share a very happy experience to get their minds off of the war and relax before they head into a new town. This shows they can have hope in one another to know that some people are still good in the world.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ishmael and his friends make it to a safe villiage before it gets attacked by the rebels and learns from someone else he knew there that his family was just up the hill. The elder tells Ishmael, "Your parents and brothers... for losing you." (Beah 92).<br><br>Ishmael proceeds to find this out and he gets anxious to see his family once again. He gets anxious to the point where he gets annoyed with helping out the elder and bringing his bananas back to the fields. </div>]]></description>
