Hello everybody, my name is Carlos Rodiles, I am not so well at technology but from my point of view it could be an excellent tool in order to learn languages. You don´t need to be a geek but you should manage technology confortably to enhance your learning. Hello all! My name is Lucía, I live in A Coruña and I am a C1 student at EOI.
I do like technology and I use it all the time both for working and personal purposes. Even so, my opinion regarding technology is that, while it can prove very useful when used sensibly, it can also consume a big deal of our time if we don't manage it wisely. Almost everything can be found online, since the schedule of a restaurant to the next book to read, let aside friends on social media. This is an advantage and apparently a very powerful means to connect people to the rest of the world. However, at the same time, it can also be a way of disconnecting us from each other's real presence. Technology is of course an asset to the language learning process. The access to readings, listenings, history or cultural aspects is now at everyone's fingertips in a regular basis. For me, the real challenge when learning a language is soaking in the real background of a language, in its cultural, social, geographical and historical background and, doing so, sounding natural and fully understanding the humour, the references and the thinking of the average native speaker.

My relation with technology is quite ambiguous, sometimes I feel like it is magical, but when everithing doesn´t work properly , it can be very annoying and time consuming.
Nevertheless, nowadays computers are essential in nearly every field, turn one´s back on technology is not an option.
I am not a computer buff, but I have to use them everyday, so I try to look on the bright side.
As I see it, the hardest skill when learning a language is fluency and pronunciation. I admire people who speak a foreign language like natives.

I'm Susy Pérez, an English teacher at EOI Coruña. This is my 4th Etwinning adventure and I'm as excited about it as the 1st time.
In today's advanced world ICT is common place in our daily exchanges. Nowadays we can download an app for almost everything we need to do.
I believe that digital tools and apps have an enormous power to enhance our teaching and learning process too as they promote interest, motivation and lots of fun!
I use them in lessons on a daily basis as I find students engage easily in the tasks. Besides gamification provides variety as well as a relaxed atmosphere.

Hello, I'm a student in EOI in A Coruña. I don't enjoy using technology but it's very necessary in my current life and job. Although I’m young, I can not say that I’m a big fan of technology, of course I have a mobile phone and tv and that kind of things but I don’t particularly like the tech part. Although I am from Vigo (you can see Samil beach in the picture), I have lived in Coruña for more than half my life. Honestly, I would not give up either of the two cities, both are great places to live.
Languages are one of my passions, at this moment I am studying English C1.1 and French C1.2, I also speak a little Italian and of course, Spanish and Galician my mother tongue.

I'm not exactly an expert in technology but I recognise that nowadays, it makes our lives easier in many ways, especially when it comes to learning new languages. I'm Ramiro, english student at EOI Santiago (Sar section)

I work as a IT System Technician, so I suppose I have a good relationship with technology.
I use it everyday and because of my work I have to say the use of technology is almost mandatory.
But I must admit that sometimes is very difficult to "go offline", even at holidays.

IMHO technology made a dramatical improvement in the learning languages field, especially with regard to accessing content in native language and to listening native speakers.
We can watch movies,series or just a TV program in a foreign language with just 2 clicks. And there is a huge amount of online material to learn new languages like mobile apps and free courses from BBC and British council, for example.

In my case, the most difficult part of learning a language is to speak and pronounce properly and I recognize that is my weakest point.

Finally a bad tech joke :)

I think that the apps are important for us, as students, because they can help us to learn our languages in many fun ways, not only going to a class.
And for me, they help me to plan my free time. I can book tickets for theatres, museums. I don’t imagine how I could do without them.
The hardest part of learning a foreing languages for me, is the speaking, because when I speak I think that I make a lot of mistakes. And the listening because sometimes, I don’t understand what the people say in the recordings.

My name is César and I`m studying C1.1 at EOI Santiago (section Sar).

I must admit that I´m a bit afraid of technology since a saw "Terminator" and "2001: A space odissey" when I was a kid. Luckily I’ve never been threatened by an android that comes from the future to kill me nor trapped in a spaceship because of a crazy computer. So... perhaps not all is bad about technology!

I mean: its advantages are enormous. Far more when it comes to learning. Just a few years ago we couldn`t even imagine that we would access to an almost unlimited amount of resourses with a simple click: movies, songs, tutorials, online classes, chats, etc. This initiative, "E-skills", is a clear example of how things have changed when it comes to learning a language. Now we can contact a lot of people from different countries to practice without even leaving home.

Of course, when the resources and the possibilities are unlimited, so are the risks. The main, from my point of view, is when all your live becomes totally virtual and you can't appreciate the value of a face-to-face class or conversation with your peers in a bar. Specially when you need to improve your speaking, as in my case.

But perhaps this is a topic for another day.

Technology and I don't get on very well, I have a very basic level to handle myself with apps and the mobile maybe because I'm 55 and I'm more interested in other things, however I think that nowadays it's necessary for everything, to study, bank accounts, for payments, medical issues, etc. so I try to make an effort.
this year the level of English is high and what I find most difficult is speaking and listening. When I want to speak my head has to translate from Spanish to English and I get confused but little by little I hope to be able to do it better.

Hi everybody!

My name is Álex and this is my first Etwinning experience. I’m a student from EOI Santiago (Sar section) and this year I’m attending C1.1 English lessons.

First of all, I have to say that, in general, I love technology! I considerer ICT offers a large variety of possibilities. I work as a maths teacher and I use a lot of online resources to teach my students. Besides, ICT lets you enjoy a lot of movies, series or music online, as well as keeping in touch with your friends and family. Definitely, I find ICT very useful, with a lot of advantages in our daily life.

Regarding learning a foreign language, I consider listening and speaking the toughest parts, especially English, with lots of different sounds!

I like technology but I´m not passionate about it like other people. Although it has many advantages, it also has disadvantages, such as disconnection from the real world (more people prefer speak through the phone instead of face to face)
However, one of the most important advantages is the possibility of connecting people in distance.
Nowadays, you need technology to do anything! I use technology every day in my work, to listening music, to watching series, and so on.

The most difficult part of learning English is Speaking, specifically the pronunciation. The worst thing is that I get very nervous and I can´t show my real knowledge of the language.
I need to be better in this part but, little by little.

Hi everyone! It's a pleasure to take part in this forum and share opinions about different topics.
My name is Manuel and I'm studing English at EOI in Noia.
I like a lot not only technology itself but how technology can improve our lifes and how it can change the world (in a good way).
We are in the peak of the innovation, living a new industrial revolution, this time we could say that is a technological revolution. It's amazing how fast things are evolving and how we are applying this to improve our society, in aspects like healthcare, computing, green energy, etc.
Regarding the English language, for me the tough part is the listening, and one step down, the speaking when you try to use complicate grammar structures or very technical expressions.
I have to say that the classes are a fantastic way of interact and share opinions with the school mates and the teacher.

Hi there!

My name is Irene and I'm studying C1.1 at EOI A Coruña. This is my first time with e-Twinning, so I hope to learn a lot from this.

For me, technology is quite important because I use it every day as a useful tool to learn new things, work in projects and tasks and also for comunicating with people and entertain myself (watching series, movies, videos, reading...).
However, I must say that can be a bit frustrating when something doesn't work or gives problems. I would also like to add that technology use to be very addictive, so it would be better if we spent fewer hours in front of a digital screen, but it's quite difficult (for me it actually is).

The hardest part of learning a foreign language is speaking, because I don't practice it as much every day (except from english classes) and I use to get nervous when I do it , so I hope to keep improving during this course.

Hello there! My name is Rafa and I’m a C1.1 student at EOI in A Coruña. To tell you the truth I’m a little bit clumsy when it comes to technology platforms. However, I’m totally open arms to receive the tools that give me the opportunity to have access to information. As students of foreign language, e-learning apps, and for instance this application, are an option to improve our knowledge (grammar, reading, listening and comprehension) in the language we have chosen, and at the same time allows us to interact with our peers no matters where we are.

In my opinion, the toughest part when we’re learning a language is to lose the fear to make mistakes when we are talking to others, due to, our fluency in our native language can make us reluctant to communicate imperfectly in another one.

I think the technology is quite important although I have same difficulty. I use technology a lot to study English, so to look up addresses and check my mail every day, I so play chess on my phone.
The most difficult part is learning and pronunciation, when the teacher puts an audio sometimes I don’t understand nothing, although I’m hearing a little history three times a week in my computer. I need to be better this part, little by little.

My name is Lucía and I am a student of English C1.1 at EOI Santiago de Compostela (section Sar).

In my opinion, technology is a tool which makes easy our lives. For instance, I am math teacher and I love using ICT in class to show different results and to do my subject more attractive. Despite its utility, I am conscious that it could be difficult to many people to include it every day, but I encourage them!

Related with learning a foreign language, I use to have problems with speaking as I have to think quickly and find the correct words to express my idea, which sometimes doesn’t happen because my vocabulary is not as wide as I would like. Although I try to improve it watching series with audio and subtitles in English, the process is slow, but I don’t despair.

Hi, my name is Sara, I'm from Spain and I' am 24 years old, recently turned. I am studying C1 in A Coruña in order to upload my English Skills.

Regarding tech, I am not really keen on it. Nowadays, it seems really obvious that it is of upmost importance in order to get in contact with other people, learn many new things, watch different series.. and so on. But what I want to express is that, sometimes, we tend to miss the most important aspects of life because of being extremely focused on our devices. In this regard, I recommend everyone to spend a whole day without any kind of device in order to make the most of the tiniest things of life, which are the most beautiful ones.
For example, many times, because of being with a tech device, we don't talk as much as we must with our relatives, we don't enjoy nature (as a bird singing)... so don't be silly, an be connected to the real world, you will see how many things you had lost in the way.

I got lost with my argument... hahaha Regarding the hardest part of learning a new language, for me, this is the speaking because of the fact of not having lived in a foreign language, I am not used to practice the language verbally so, when I try to do it, It is a bit strange for me.

In my view, technology has two sides. On the one hand, it can be wonderful, as you can access all the information you want, learn new skills, connect with other people in the distance or even earn money with your work. However, it can be dangerous, as there is a lot of misinformation or fake news, as well as social media, which can affect many people who are looking for canons of beauty or lifestyles that are far from reality.

As for English, it is a necessary language for many jobs and for travelling around the world, which is why I want to improve my English. For me, the most difficult part of learning this language is pronunciation and fluency, but with practice everything can be possible.

I think technology has a great impact on our daily lives. It helps to make almost everything easier and language learning is definitely one of them. The process of language learning has become so much easier and quicker thanks to technology. With the help of the internet we have acces to endless resources and we can reach out to so many people from all over the world. For me, my english learning journey started with a single app I used when I was 7 and I've been using the help of technology with my language studies ever since.

I think the hardest part of language learning is practicing speaking. It's also the most important skill in my opinion because I think that even if you have a large vocabulary and know perfect grammar, they're no use if you can't configure them into speaking. And it's usually not that easy to practice speaking. There aren't enough options online for practicing speaking compared to other skills so the best way is to communicate with native speakers. But not everyone has the chance to talk to someone who lives on the other side of the world which makes it difficult for people to practice speaking.
