I think it is a nice celebration of love, but it shouldn't be seen as mandatory. It is nice if as a couple you decide to do it.

Usually, I share this with my family at my mom's house. Sometimes we rent an apartment on the beach and enjoy together. Dinner is prepared by my older brother who loves cooking while I play and care for my lovely son. We don't have any omen, so after midnight, it is just music and dancing.

Normally, I spend the night with my family; we play, and wait until midnight. With my cousin and aunt, we always run around the street block with our bags or luggage to travel the new year. To be honest, I think you can celebrate as you want, it is a special date, and the important thing is to have your family and close friends to celebrate it, or just your partner and your family if you want. Also, If you want to spend a lot of money or not on a party, it is a decision you take as a couple. I would like to celebrate just with the most important people and keep it simple, not too extravagant, so in that way, I can use part of the money to travel and explore new places.

I think is an awesome way to have fun with the newly wed couple, because everyone can socialize with anyone, and also be with the main ones, but i consider there are a bunch of way to celebrate it, i would be the couple's decision how to do it, not only their opinions, but also their culture, and organized it how they see fit. The guests needs to remember the important part is spending time with the couple, and not them having fun, if you go to a wedding, the main objective is to celebrate the decision both of them did, not to get the guests as the main characters of the day.
